In 2018 Ronny Hansen pursued his friend Yngvar Halvorsen to be a part of Oslo Streetfood. Yngvar has always had a passion for food. His father loves to cook more advanced dishes and enjoys trying new recipes and methods while his mom was the expert on comfort food like pizza, spagetti and sweet dishes. Yngvars wife Ruth is from Hawaii and having tried poke bowls and poke nachos with guacamole at her uncles place they chose to open Hawaii Oslo at Oslo Street food making poke bowls and poke nachos.
After a succesful year in Oslo they heard about Matkvartalet in Hamar and was offered a spot to open Hawaii Hamar. The Halvorsen family moved to Stange to open their new place by the end of 2020.
After barely making it through two years of pandemic time the 3rd place was opened at Barcode Streetfood in Oslo beginning of 2022 and not long after Hawaii Drammen at Drammen Street Food.
